Boise Mobile Equipment consists of two fire apparatus manufacturing facilities in Boise, Idaho. Combined, the facilities employ individuals specializing in auto body, welding, fabrication, electrical, sales and support. AVAILABLE POSITIONS

We are a growing shop looking to find experienced body shop employees who have a good understanding of bodywork principles, how to use body filler, how to block sand, and the ability to use air-tools. An ideal candidate would have a broad range of experiences and a strong mechanical aptitude. Related field experience would include automotive customization or collision repair work.

We work on large flat panels that require a fair amount of practice to become proficient at filling and blocking. As a Bodywork and Prep Technician, you will be responsible for grinding, acid washing, and prepping the body for the paint process. Responsibilities will include mixing and applying body filler, sanding with both longboards and mud-hog sanders. Finish sanding primer, caulking seams, masking openings, and occasional color sanding and buffing. Candidates with tools and a roll around tool box are preferred. All applicants must pass a basic math test and pre-employment drug screening. We currently have openings in both day and swing shift positions. Completion of vocational schooling or a minimum of 1-2 years of similar shop experience preferred.

Boise Mobile Equipment is expanding production to meet the demands of having been awarded multiple contracts and we are looking to build a team of individuals who possess a variety of skills. We are a new-build fire apparatus manufacturer with over 20 years in the Boise area. We specialize in the construction of one of the most durable fire truck bodies in the industry. We build to custom specifications supplied by our customers.

All experience levels considered as we begin ramping up to meet the growing customer demand.

Fit and Finish Craftsmen (responsible for the design and creation of brackets and overlays; the assembly and final fit of components; related field experience might include automotive customization, finish carpentry, or metal fabrication).

Candidates with tools (a list will be supplied at interview) and a roll around tool box are preferred.

We are currently looking for an Outside salesperson to join our team.

What are expectations are for our outside salesperson:

  • Must be an independent worker with outside sales experience. Experience in the fire industry would be helpful but not required.
  • Must be a relationship salesperson that thrives on meeting new people and customer service is your number one goal.
  • Energetic and motivated
  • Must have or obtain (within 60 days) Class B CDL 
  • Travel is required

We are currently looking for a Sales Representatives based in Southern California. 

We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together structures parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.

A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.

Include:

  • Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Setting up components for welding according to specifications

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures

  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

Requirements

  • Proven experience as welder
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG etc.)
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
  • Deftness and attention to detail
  • Proficient in English
  • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
  • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Ability to perform skilled work pertaining to plumbing and welding such as assembling parts, installing pipe, and welding using the GTAW process. People who apply need to be able to work with little to no supervision; the individual must know how to problem solve without asking direction.

Examples of duties:

  • Install general plumbing systems and maintain/repair existing plumbing
  • Monitors supply and equipment inventory
  • Welding stainless pipe with the GTAW process
  • Acid washing pipes prior to install

Knowledge of:

  • Proper safety gear for shop environment
  • Able to use power/air/basic tools (wrenches, punches, etc.)
  • Welding knowledge preferred
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Basic math skills

Ability to:

  • Interpret blueprints, plans, drawings, schematics and other data pertaining to the objective
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions with minimal accountability
  • Communicating effectively with coworkers and customers
  • Work with a group of people effectively
