We are a growing shop looking to find experienced body shop employees who have a good understanding of bodywork principles, how to use body filler, how to block sand, and the ability to use air-tools. An ideal candidate would have a broad range of experiences and a strong mechanical aptitude. Related field experience would include automotive customization or collision repair work.

We work on large flat panels that require a fair amount of practice to become proficient at filling and blocking. As a Bodywork and Prep Technician, you will be responsible for grinding, acid washing, and prepping the body for the paint process. Responsibilities will include mixing and applying body filler, sanding with both longboards and mud-hog sanders. Finish sanding primer, caulking seams, masking openings, and occasional color sanding and buffing. Candidates with tools and a roll around tool box are preferred. All applicants must pass a basic math test and pre-employment drug screening. We currently have openings in both day and swing shift positions. Completion of vocational schooling or a minimum of 1-2 years of similar shop experience preferred.

Boise Mobile Equipment is a custom fire apparatus manufacturer with over 25 years in the Boise area. We specialize in the fabrication and construction of some of the most durable fire trucks in the industry.

The technician is responsible for maintaining the fleet for clients and to handle service calls at client locations as well as in the BME shop. Provide service to our customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This can include cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly parts evaluation for reuse and/or reconditioning.


  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company, customer and regulatory standards.
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair with integrated body and chassis components.
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed and documented as assigned.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on the body of the apparatus
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
  • Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and associated fire apparatus equipment.
  • Read job order, observe and listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
  • Utilize various diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and utilize available technical information to determine and perform correct repair procedure.
  • Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on trucks and adjust.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drives on the repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work as requested.
  • Document and submit necessary paperwork or enter into mobile service program as work performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding the work. Foster positive customer relations.
  • Advise customer and/or service writer of any repairs or services which should be performed within the next 3 months.
  • Participate in training and utilize that training in the course of work.
  • 5 years’ experience as a Class 5 – 8 technician a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVS (or be able to get one).
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability are a must.
  • Must have or be able to get EVT certification in all three Fire Apparatus Technician levels.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working inventory clerk with warehouse experience and great communication skills. Your responsibilities would include maintaining inventory records, loading/unloading trucks, operate forklift/pallet jack as needed and other duties as required. Inventory clerks can expect to work long hours sometimes and might have to travel in town occasionally. This is a daytime/nighttime position.

Successful inventory clerks should have exceptional math and analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates are physically fit and have warehouse experience, a working knowledge of word processing, ERP/MRP/WMS systems and a valid driver’s license.

Inventory Clerk Responsibilities:

We are looking for a skilled Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together structures parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.

A welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.


  • Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
